Any out of state motor carrier that intends to travel through a foreign jurisdiction and is not a member of IRP.
How do I apply to get a Fuel or Trip Permit?
An applicant must visit www.americantripandfuelpermits.com, select the jurisdiction(s), enter your business and vehicle information, and submit payment. The applicant will receive a confirmation email and the permit(s) on the next business day.
What happens after submitting my information?
Your information will be reviewed and a new account will be created for you. An email with information such as username and password to will be provided to make future permit purchases only require one click.
When will I receive my Fuel or Trip Permit?
Once payment is made, your Fuel Trip Permit will be emailed in PDF form to the email you provided on the next business day. You should print the Permit and keep in the vehicle during your travel period.
What is the period of 􀆟me the Fuel or Trip Permits valid for?
Permits are valid for 10 days in Georgia, Florida, and Mississippi. Permits are valid for 7 days in Alabama.
What if I need more Fuel or Trip Permits in the future?
Keep the customer number, username, and password for your account. You can use that information to log in at a future date and purchase more permits.
